Tank vs. tankless: which is better?
Tankless gives continuous hot water and takes less space, but costs more upfront and needs yearly maintenance. A tank is cheaper to install and simpler. The right answer depends on usage, fuel and install location.
Why does my tankless water heater run out of hot water?
A tankless unit doesn't run out, but it can be undersized for the number of fixtures running at once, so water turns lukewarm. Scale buildup and clogged inlet filters also reduce output.
How often does a tankless water heater need maintenance?
Most manufacturers recommend descaling once a year, plus cleaning the inlet water filter. Harder water may need more frequent service.
